Breath

Botanical printing on damask tablecloth, linen, embroidery thread 84cm x 38cm

Text from 'There's A Certain Slant Of Light' by Emily Dickinson (American poet 1830-1886) 'When it comes - the landscape listens - shadows hold their breath.' taking Emily's words out of context leaves room for personal interpretation. She has given the environment human capabilities of hearing and breathing, as responses to an unknown incident. The Greenway, previously neglected and subjected to industrial pollution, is now responding beautifully to continuing urban bush care. It provides space for many activities - including taking time out for a 'breath.'
