This work contemplates the importance of our surrounding landscape, its history and the need to help it heal. Using humour, the familiar and sentimentality it deals with an emotional connection to the past but also hope for a future. It explores a form of alchemy finding beauty and hope in rejuvenation. The work touches on human encounters with nature in our changing landscape. The juxtapositions used hint at the actions and changes we unconsciously make that then form future identities. Exploring the mingling of human and non-human the work serves as a reminder of how vulnerable we are to the destructive impact of our own actions.
