This painting is inspired by the peaceful yet lively feeling of looking out over the bay in the Inner West at night. The dark sky is reflected in the calm water, with stars and lights creating a shimmering effect. This painting is also a tribute to Van Gogh's 'Starry Night,' with its swirling energy and vibrant colors. I wanted to show how the night can be both still and full of movement at the same time. The water and sky seem to blend together, making the scene feel both dreamy and alive. Through this work, I hope to capture the special beauty of the night and how it can make us feel calm yet energized. -
