This artwork is called Salvage as it is made entirely of things I have noticed, collected and reformed to create something new and beautiful. Discarded objects are recycled into a framework for my weaving, and I gather natural materials from my garden, from street fall or from green waste. For this bowl, I collected the spent flowers of tree philodendrons, building up a collection as I walked with my children to parks and to school. I got to know individual plants and regularly visited them to see if they had any offerings. After a year, I had enough to begin weaving.
