I love the riotous colours of these little cottages as you head down Illawarra Rd towards the Cooks River. They’re part of a strand of houses lining the last stretch before the parklands, nestled into the hillside and framed by glorious tall trees, sometimes in full boom. If you pass by early morning on your way through the golf course and over to the start of the Greenway, you’ll find them bathed in sunlight – but they’re easily overlooked. Just another detail in the rich tapestry of Marrickville’s eclectic built and natural landscape.
