I took this photo of the Little Black Cormorant on 11/8/24 along the banks of the Cooks River (opposite Steel Park). I find these birds captivating, particularly, their deep emerald eyes which seem to draw you in and hold your attention. It is those beautiful green eyes that I wanted to celebrate and share in my photo as an emblem of not just our rich urban ecology, but also as a sign of the overall health of the Cooks River catchment.
