Tidal Resonance
 
My vessel is a tactile exploration of the diverse textures found along the shoreline of the inner west, inspired by the natural elements that thrive in this environment. As you move around the three-dimensional form, new details emerge, each representing a different aspect of coastal life. The roughness of oysters, the intricate formations of rock pools, the resilience of barnacles and limpets, and the fluidity of seaweed and shells—all these textures come together to create a narrative of the sea. The glaze has intentionally clumped in certain areas, mimicking how water gathers in pools as the tides shift. The green hue is a direct reference to the sea and seaweed, tying the piece back to its marine origins. This vessel is a celebration of the coastal ecosystem, inviting viewers to engage with the intricate beauty that lies beneath the surface.
