Magpies are possibly Australia's mostly adaptable wild bird. They thrive in Sydney and can be seen all along the greenway corridor. My connection with magpie begun decades ago when i lived among the greenway pathways. I started painting my first magpies and cant seem to stop. Magpie represents balance. Since moving away from the area and into the bush I can see how vital the greenway is to urban Sydney. In this piece I want the viewer to decide what the caution sign might represent. Perhaps we are being told to slow down, let the trees grow.
