The Canal Path

It was a bright winter morning. I sat on the edge of the canal sketching and looking across towards Richard Murden Reserve. There was a seamless parade of people enjoying the path and the weather. The sound was of birds rustling and chirping and of the tinkling of little water splashes. The chaos of the city so close receded in favour of peacefulness. I am so grateful for this haven.
