& CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Artists may enter a total of two artworks, using separate entry forms, in any of the prize categories + up to two photographs in the Community Photo Prize.
e.g. one Open Art Prize entry, one Small Sculpture Prize entry and two Community Photography Prize entries or two Open Art Prize entries and one Photography Prize entry.

NOTE: Employees of Inner West Council and City of Canterbury Bankstown Council are not eligible to enter.

HOW TO ENTER

NB: Open Art Prize entrants MUST attach a one page artist CV
Provide a brief artist statement about your work and its relevance to the GreenWay/Cooks River
(max 150 words) per artwork.
Upload good quality, representative Images of your work - 300dpi jpeg (2MB)
Community Photo Prize, upload 300dpi jpeg no larger than 5MB
NB: Image files MUST be named 'surname_firstname_title_size'

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
ENTRY FEES (non-refundable, includes GST)
$25/entry, all categories - excluding photography
Photo Prize - Adult $10/entry and Youth (18 & under) free entry
Youth Art Prize - (8 - 18yrs) entry $10
THE GREENWAY ART PRIZE finalist exhibition is curated. Artwork will be pre-selected by a curatorial panel according to artistic merit, and relationship to the GreenWay/Cooks River and will cover a range of techniques and subject matter. The final awards will be decided upon by invited judges.
All entries must be the artist’s original work and have been produced within the last year;
This may include recognisable landmarks/ locations;
Search Flickr, google images for reference materials if out of area - pls. reference photographer if known,
be conceptually related to the GreenWay/Cooks River catchment; its biodiversity, modes of transport and leisure activities,
comment more generally on ecological sustainability - issues & solutions relating to the GreenWay/Cooks River environment.
Artworks must be accompanied by an artist statement detailing your entry's concrete or conceptual links
to GreenWay/Cooks River. Include photographer credits if applicable.
Open Art Prize and Local Prize entries must not exceed 100cm in height or width, including frames and other mounting devices;
3D artworks, designed specifically to wall mount will be considered for the OPEN ART PRIZE.
NB: freestanding sculpture on a wall mounted plinth will NOT be considered.
Entries must not exceed 1m in width and 20cm in depth
Cooks River Small Sculpture Prize entries must not exceed 1m in any direction. Works must be sturdy, easily moved and suitable for display on a plinth;
Adult Community Photo Prize entries must be landscape format and taken within the Greenway and Cooks River catchment.
May include images of bush-care, re-wilding, urban ecology and renewal, natural habitat and biodiversity along the GreenWay.
Youth Community Photo Prize Entrants must be under 18 years of age - criteria as for the Adult Prize above.
Finalists’ artwork will be exhibited in the GreenWay Art Prize exhibition.
Photo Prize finalists' artwork will be compiled and shown onscreen indoors and as a large-scale projection onto Mungo Scott Building on Opening Night.
Winners will be invited to mount and frame their work for exhibition
The placement of finalists' works within the exhibition is at the discretion of the curator/curatorial team.
All works on paper, drawings, prints and paintings must be professionally mounted and framed or on stretched canvas with D rings attached, ready for hanging.
For all other wall mounted works, fixtures and detailed instructions for hanging must be supplied by the artist and approved by the GREENWAY Art Prize install team.
The GREENWAY Art Prize reserves the right to reject a work, if on delivery it's considered too fragile or unstable for safe display, or too heavy or difficult to handle and install.
Deliver selected artwork
Friday 26 November, 2pm – 4pm
or Saturday 27 November, 10am – 4pm
Clearly identify your delivery with entrant’s name, contact address, email and telephone number, the title, the price of the work (if for sale); and the category entered into.
Include any particular display requirements.
Packing materials will be stored for the duration of the exhibition if contained and clearly labelled as above
Freight and transport costs in both directions are the responsibility of the artist.

SECURITY, LIABILITY AND INSURANCE
Artists exhibit at their own risk and insurance is the artist’s responsibility. GREENWAY Art Prize and host venues will exercise reasonable care, but are not responsible for loss or damage to any work while in its custody, during transit or on exhibition. All exhibition venues have public liability and fire protection insurance. Additional insurance, if desired, is the responsibility of the entrant.
COPYRIGHT, PHOTOGRAPHS AND MEDIA
Artists grant GREENWAY Art Prize and its licensees the right to reproduce their work, in part or in full, and biographical material by any means in any media for archival and promotional purposes. The artist and their gallery (if applicable) will be properly acknowledged in such material.
SALE OF ARTWORK
All artwork is for sale unless otherwise specified. Commission on sales is 25% (exclusive of GST).
GREENWAY Art Prize will split commission with a represented artist's gallery. Artists are responsible for notifying their gallery that work has sold.
